He\u2019s also quite a character\u2014disarming, funny, generous, and charismatic\u2014which makes him stand out among his automotive industry peers who tend to wear dark suits and never crack a joke. Albaisa, on the other hand, greets even acquaintances with the warmth of an old friend and a knowing smile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It should come as no surprise then that his cars are the same way. The all-new <a href=\"https:\/\/www.infiniti.ca\/vehicles\/crossovers-suvs\/qx80.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">INFINITI QX80<\/a>, the brand\u2019s palatial flagship SUV, is as crisp and imposing as a private jet, but it greets occupants\u2014or \u201chonoured guests,\u201d to use INFINITI\u2019s preferred term\u2014with a rare warmth and a calm, welcoming ambience. Every time you step into the new QX80, it\u2019s almost a relief, a respite. That\u2019s no accident; it\u2019s by design.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1000\" height=\"1500\" src=\"https:\/\/smagazineofficial.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/1-23.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-56261\" srcset=\"https:\/\/smagazineofficial.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/1-23.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/smagazineofficial.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/1-23-200x300.jpg 200w, https:\/\/smagazineofficial.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/1-23-683x1024.jpg 683w, https:\/\/smagazineofficial.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/1-23-768x1152.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><em>Courtesy of INFINITI.<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cINFINITI\u2019s hospitality starts before you even step inside the vehicle,\u201d Albaisa explains, as he walks through the QX80 experience. \u201cAs you approach, the lights awaken, first with the badge and the grille, and then extending across a beautiful headlamp signature,\u201d he says. The new QX80 then projects a light-path alongside the vehicle\u2014as if it\u2019s rolling out the red carpet\u2014illuminating the curb so guests can avoid stepping in puddles or scuffing their shoes. The flush door handles, which help to maintain the exterior\u2019s clean lines, pop out on cue, offering themselves up to guests. As Albaisa says, the new QX80, \u201cdelivers a sense of thoughtful and artful hospitality.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is a new dawn for INFINITI, and for the brand\u2019s design language. \u201cThe all-new QX80 is a sizable canvas for us, as designers, to express INFINITI\u2019s artistry,\u201d Albaisa explains. He points to the nearly horizontal hood, which he calls a powerful and audacious gesture, as well as the unbroken \u201cbeltline\u201d that runs in a luxurious arc from the front edge of the hood around the side of the vehicle and through the rear light bar. Albaisa describes the style as dominant, yet sophisticated.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since INFINITI hails from Japan, and its main design studio is nestled in the hills south of Tokyo, the design team naturally drew upon several Japanese elements of design. For example, kabuku\u2014the sense of something extraordinary\u2014is revealed in the way the vehicle lights up as you approach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1000\" height=\"1500\" src=\"https:\/\/smagazineofficial.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/2-20.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-56262\" srcset=\"https:\/\/smagazineofficial.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/2-20.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/smagazineofficial.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/2-20-200x300.jpg 200w, https:\/\/smagazineofficial.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/2-20-683x1024.jpg 683w, https:\/\/smagazineofficial.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/2-20-768x1152.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><em>Courtesy of INFINITI.<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The QX80 was also heavily influenced by the concept of sho, which means to glide or to soar. Seen in the metal, it\u2019s really giving private jet: note the two-tone paint, flush-fitting curved lights front and rear, subtle black chrome trim, and turbine-like 22-inch aluminum wheels. The entire design was carefully sculpted so as to be smooth and aerodynamic, ensuring not just efficiency, but also a quiet cabin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Utsuroi\u2014the formation of harmonious transitions\u2014can be felt as guests step into the vehicle. Open the door and you\u2019ll find an opulent world of sophisticated materials. The exterior lighting design flows into the cabin, with customizable ambient lighting along the doors, \u201cbringing a sense of harmony to all elements,\u201d Albaisa says. There\u2019s a black ultra-suede headliner, a panoramic glass roof, and leather available across the doors, dashboard and centre console. The open-pore ash wood interior trim has laser-etched metal inlays, positioned on precise angles, inspired\u2014as Albaisa explains\u2014by the design of traditional Japanese kimonos. Not only that, but the intricate dot-quilting pattern on the leather flows through all three rows, too. It\u2019s a deeply luxurious place to be, no matter where you\u2019re sitting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The all-new INFINITI QX80 exhibits a level of hospitality that can only be created through good design,
